SUBZONE INTRODUCTION (TUN TAN CHENG LOCK)


The Tun Tan Cheng Lock Sub-Zone is part of the Chancellery Building Zone of UMK Bachok. The naming of this sub-zone aligns with the theme given to UMK Bachok, which is Heritage - Historical Figures. The name of Tun Tan Cheng Lock Sub-Zone is given to the Centre for Strategic & Risk, the Vice-Chancellor Office, for the implementation of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA).

Tun Tan Cheng Lock was an exceptional figure in Malaysian history. He played a crucial role in uniting the Chinese community to join forces with the first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, and his delegation in the struggle for independence. Several principles and values he championed can be associated with the concept of EKSA.

 

In the context of the public sector, unity and cooperation between agencies and stakeholders are crucial to ensure effective and efficient public services. The existence of a conducive ecosystem in the public sector often depends on the importance of collaborating and avoiding conflicts among the parties involved.

 

Overall, the values and vision of Tun Tan Cheng Lock in terms of unity and development can provide guidance in shaping and implementing a conducive and well-functioning ecosystem in the public sector.
